Funai Electric subsidiary P&F USA said its new series of Chromecast-enabled Philips-branded 4K TVs have begun shipping
The 5000-series TVs, which first debuted at CES in January,come with built-in Chromecast, enabling users to “cast” content from a compatible mobile device or laptop. More than 1,000 apps are available for casting, and consumers can control the content on the TV via mobile device or voice. A feature that will display information on the TV in response to certain voice commands will be functional in early 2018, said P&F.
The TVs also work with Google Home powered by the Google Assistant.
Other details include high dynamic range (HDR), 120Hz frame rate, 4K up-scaling, and 802.11ac wireless LAN with MIMO antennas, while Sonic Emotion Premium and Absolute 3D sound technologies are designed to provide immersive 3D sound with a precise soundstage and clear dialog.
The TVs come with HDMI 2.0a with HDCP2.2 on all HDMI ports, as well as built-in HEVC and VP9 decoders.
